Augusto Porta, Ph.D.

Dr Augusto Porta holds a Diploma in Chemical Engineering and a Doctorate in Electro-Chemistry from the Milan Institute of Technology.

 

Since his earliest research work he has specialised in chemical engineering and physico-chemistry in relation to environmental problems. He had worked for almost 40 years at the Battelle Institute as a project head and as a section head later, before being appointed a head of the environmental group of the said institute in Geneva. In 1998, he was appointed as a vice-president of the environmental division in the Battelle Memorial Institute, USA.

 

Dr Porta was responsible for the direction and coordination of the activities of the Battelle Memorial Institute and the Geneva Battelle Institute within the framework of large environmental clean-up programmes for individuals and associations. He also taught electro-organic synthesis for eight years at the University of Geneva. He holds 14 patents and is the author of over 80 publications.
